Gun Range

Among the many other outdoor activities that draw people to the town of Swan Hills is the sport shooting.

The Swan Hills Outdoor Recreation Club is an organization and supporter who manages our gun range for gun enthusiasts and archers. It currently offers skeet shooting, trap shooting, five-stand sporting clay shooting, 5 rifle ranges, and 2 pistol ranges approved for restricted use.

The club hosts its annual National Skeet Shooting Association sanctioned competition in August — an event which draws shooters from throughout the province of Alberta.  The club also has evening shoots during the week and local shooting events throughout the year.

For its members who prefer a quieter form of target shooting, the club is currently developing an archery range where archers can practice on their skills with a bow.
